Rainfall amounts have been updated to range from 0.1 to 0.25 inches across much of South Jersey, while northern areas, including Mount Pocono, could see up to 1.5 inches of rain, according to the National Weather Service.
In addition to the rain, snow accumulations in higher elevations are expected to be heavier than earlier forecasts: Mount Pocono could now receive 6 to 8 inches of snow, while areas like Allentown and Reading may see 1 to 3 inches.
Snow is also now predicted in Morris, Sussex, and Hunterdon counties.
Coastal areas and urban centers, including Philadelphia, Trenton, and Atlantic City, will likely experience only rain with little to no snow accumulation.
Winds are gusting between 25 and 35 mph across the region, making travel hazardous and prompting residents to secure outdoor items.
The system’s impacts are expected to continue into Friday night.
